"Hold At All Cost
42nd Rainbow Division Prisoners Of War
Personal accounts from American soldiers in World War I and World War II"

"Their imprisonment was a direct result of their orders: Hold at all cost"
Published by Kingsbury Books, first edition July 2004.

These accounts by 42nd Rainbow Division P.O.W.'s from both World Wars provide stark descriptions of battles preceding capture as well as experiences in the Lagers in which they were imprisoned.

This book is an excellent reminder to veterans of those bleak days during the Ardennes-Alsace campaign and the misery awaiting those who were captured. For family members these are stories well worth knowing and remembering. For students of history there are lessons for survival of the human spirit.

"Hold At All Cost" 492 pages, hardcover, may be obtained at a cost of $15 per book (shipping included). Make out your check to Rainbow Veterans Foundation, include your shipping address information and mail to:

"In Search of Rainbow Memorials"

by Lise Pommois with Charles Fowler; published by Aegis consulting Group, Inc., Bedford Pennsylvania.

"In Search of Rainbow Memorials" by Lise M. Pommois, distinguished author of "Winter Storm," and the Memorial Foundation's first Honored Member, with Charles Fowler, Rainbow Memorials Officer, should be on the book shelf or coffee table of every Rainbow Division veteran. For the first time, locations, descriptions, and pictures of, and even driving directions to Rainbow Memorials, have been compiled and presented in a single document. However, this book contains much more. It profiles leaders and other Rainbow men who rose to prominence and provides a running Rainbow history of both World War I and II, related specifically to associated memorials and their locales.

This book is one of a kind, great both for reading cover to cover and also for keeping on hand as a reference work. The final photograph of the "Inscription engraved in a pillar in the Strasbourg Cathedral, France" reads ,in both French and English, "1944-1945 IN MEMORY OF THE AMERICAN OFFICERS NON COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND SOLDIERS WHO GAVE THEIR LIFE TO FREE ALSACE."

The final sentence in the book eloquently proclaims, "Stones can talk, they can tell of heroic deeds or fierce fighting, but we must listen to them."

Efforts to bring together collected photos of Rainbow have long been underway, but only recently through the good offices of Memorials Officer Charles Fowler and the research, organizational and writing skills of Lise Pommois, has the final attractive, 108 page book been created.

"In Search of Rainbow Memorials" is available for $14.95 plus $4 for postage and handling from Aegis Publishing Company, P.O. Box 629, Bedford, PA 15522-0629. Telephone: (814) 623-8308; fax: (814) 623-8668; e-mail: aegis@bedford.net. (If more than one book is ordered at one time, the shipping for the first book is $4.00 then add $1.00 for each additional book - e.g. postage for three copies would be $6.00.)

JUSTICE AT DACHAU

by Joshua M. Greene, published by Broadway Books, New York, 2003.

The Nuremberg trial of the highest ranking Nazis is well known to most. However, trials at Dachau of lower level Nazis, especially Concentration Camp administrators and guards has received little historic coverage. Joshua Greene has remedied this neglect with his fascinating new book centered on the Chief American prosecutor, William Denson.

You are invited by author Joshua M. Greene to visit www.justiceatdachau.com which provides reviews, photos, links, and other additional information.
