60th Annual National Veterans
Day
The 42nd Rainbow Division Veterans Association
("Memorial Foundation" since July 2003) has been a sponsor
of the National Veterans Day in Birmingham since 1947. Rainbow Division
veterans and family members have attended this event throughout
the years, and each year there have been two honored guests seated
at the head tables, the President of the Association and the President
of the National Auxiliary. This tradition is being continued by
WWII veterans, and family members of WWI and WWII Rainbow veterans
are encouraged to attend with the Rainbow group.
Arrive Saturday, November 10th, for get-together in the
Hospitality Room, and evening Dutch Treat supper.
Sunday morning, November 11th, begin Bus tour to Shoney's,
and a planned tour ending at 21st ST (Memorial) Viaduct for the
167th Alabama Regiment memorial service on the viaduct.
Sunday evening, National Veterans Award Dinner (formal or
semi-formal) in the Boutwell Auditorium.
Monday November 12th: Memorial Service 9:00 A.M. at the Cathedral
Church of the Advent; 11:00 A.M. World Peace Luncheon in the Boutwell
Auditorium; 1:30 P.M. National Veterans Day Parade. Rainbow people
will have a bus in the parade.

Make your hotel reservations directly with the hotel and ask
for the rooms reserved for the Rainbow Division Veterans. Reservations
must be made by November 1 to get the special rate. The rate applies
to two days before and two days after.
REGISTRATION FEE for banquet and luncheon, and bus fee for
tour and parade is $59. John Wallace has the tickets for the Rainbow

Regiment Company I.)
